March 2nd | If You Believe, Tell Someone!

A person in a robe radiates light from a glowing heart, surrounded by people in awe. A large cross shines in the background.
When that kind of real belief fills your heart, it naturally spills out. You can't keep it inside—you want to tell others. What your heart truly believes, your mouth will speak. The good news about Jesus pushes us to share it.

Romans 10:9-10 (NIV):

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

In Paul's day, saying "Jesus is Lord" out loud was dangerous. The Roman emperor wanted people to call him lord and worship him. Declaring Jesus as Lord meant choosing Him over the emperor—and that could cost you everything.

The word "heart" here doesn't just mean feelings. In the original Greek, it means your whole self: your mind, your emotions, and your will. So believing in your heart isn't just agreeing in your head that Jesus is God's Son, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead. It's a deep, life-changing trust that touches every part of who you are.

When that kind of real belief fills your heart, it naturally spills out. You can't keep it inside—you want to tell others. What your heart truly believes, your mouth will speak. The good news about Jesus pushes us to share it.

What about "justified"? It doesn't mean being a tough U.S. Marshal like in that show Justified (set right here in our part of Kentucky!). It means God declares you right with Him. He calls you righteous—not because you've earned it with good deeds, but because of His grace and love through Jesus. You're forgiven, clean, and in right standing with God.

In simple terms:

- Believe in Jesus with your whole being (all your heart).

- Tell others about Him (declare it with your mouth).

- God will declare you righteous, forgive your sins, and give you eternal life with Him.

That's the power of the Gospel—simple enough for anyone, but deep enough to change everything. If this stirs your heart today, let it move you to believe fully and share boldly.
